PTSD Therapy

Post Traumatic Stress DisorderPost-Traumatic Stress Disorder is the brain’s naturally occurring response to a severely traumatic event. These events are often experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening situation such as a car accident, medical emergency or wartime violence. People with PTSD are plagued by disrupted sleep or disturbing dreams, high levels of anxiety and stress, and lowered resiliency towards the unavoidable stressors in life. They are also much more likely to develop an addiction as they attempt to self-medicate with mind-altering substances. By treating the underlying trauma of PTSD, we can also help treat addictive behaviors. Harmony’s staff is trained in trauma-sensitive and responsive techniques to provide a safe environment for clients with PTSD. Harmony Heals can approach PTSD with several methods of therapy that are researched and known to help alleviate PTSD symptoms, such as EMDR, DBT, Hypnotherapy, Neurofeedback, etc.

Typical Signs of PTSD are:

  • Night sweats
  • Panic attacks
  • Increased anxiety
